Legalized Sports Gambling could bring a Texas-sized economic impact to the Lone Star State

39 states have legalized sports gambling within their borders, creating another source of revenue for state governments to fund public programs.

Despite large demand, Texas is amongst the states that have yet to legalize sports gambling.

If this industry becomes legal, this could generate significant revenue for education in rural areas such as the Big Country as well as border control to minimize crime.

I spoke with Hardin-Simmons University Professor of Economics Dr. John A. Hill and Texas State Representative HD 68 David Spiller to hear more about the potential impact of legalized sports gambling and what’s stopping it from becoming a reality.
